It’s expensive to live in our region — that doesn’t mean you have to choose between paying bills and eating healthy food. The Alameda Food Bank is here to help with healthy free food.
Clients of the Food Bank must be residents of the City of Alameda and have financial need. A single person can make up to $3,016 a month; a family of three can make up to $5,105 and still qualify. Our cutoffs for eligibility are considerably higher than the federal guidelines for services because they are based on cost of living in the Bay Area. Our average client saves roughly $500 a month on groceries.
